Denmark
A city of entertainment and art, delightful old-town streets, and sandy beaches.
Already settled during Viking times, Horsens has been a place of importance since the 1100s when two kings minted coins in the city and even established its own legal code from the 1200s. Horsens has a diverse industry, with electronics and graphics companies particularly prominent, and the modern cultural movement sees bands from Dolly Parton to Iron Maiden playing here. Central to Horsens is the pedestrianized main street Søndergade, full of historic buildings, cafes, and restaurants. To the east is Industrimuseet, Denmark’s only industrial museum, where you can experience the sights, smells, and sounds of the early industrialization era at this tactile and educational museum. You can also visit the Horsens Art Museum, surrounded by pleasant parkland and full of contemporary Danish art.
