A uniquely Albanian experience awaits visitors to the resort and hotel complex of Mrizi I Zanave Agroturizem, a sprawling example of agro-tourism. Visitors can pop in during the day for a glass of wine made on-site, or take a longer tour of the working farm to learn more about the farm-to-table practices in place here. Rows upon rows of tomatoes drying in the sun are just one of the hints of delicious, carefully grown ingredients to come in the on-site restaurant. Interestingly, the farm and several of its buildings, including what is now the winery and the cheese and meat curing buildings, were previously a Prison. Visitors should be sure to get a tour from one of the farm’s team members and enjoy a tasting menu at one of the outdoor dining halls if the weather allows.
