This lookout offers the best view of the stunning Shiding Thousand Island Lake and its catfish-shaped island.
This lookout point offers unmatched panoramic views over the Shiding Thousand Island Lake below. These rich blue-green waters were created by the construction of a dam in 1959 that diverted water from the Feicui Reservoir. The area is encircled by mountains, lending it a mystical appearance akin to something out of a fantasy novel. The Tushitou Lookout Point is one of several viewing platforms around the lake, but this one offers a unique perspective as it faces the head of the island in the middle of the lake, which has been described as looking like a catfish. This unique viewpoint also offers the best views over the mirrored surface of the lake and offers one of the easiest trails to get there. Visitors will pass by a house where clear directions are posted for visitors to use when navigating to the observation point.
