This multifaceted museum represents contemporary Kwa-Zulu Natal art and culture while preserving the region’s history.
The Empangeni Art and Cultural History Museum is housed in a building from 1916, which served as the town’s event venue. Now, instead of concerts and dances, the building exhibits a collection of contemporary artwork from some of the region’s most notable artists, with rotating temporary exhibitions always adding something new and exciting. Other displays preserve local history, such as artefacts from local sugar and cattle farmers, and Zulu tribesmen.
