About
The Granby Zoo was founded in 1953 by the town’s mayor in an effort to revitalize the town’s economy, and offer sanctuary to countless animal species. Orphaned giraffes were flown in from Denmark and baby elephants from India! The zoo is also famous for its royal liaisons, with beavers given to Prince Rainier as a wedding gift. This award-winning zoo hosts many curious animals from all corners of the world. Jump into the deep with the Giant Pacific Octopus, cavort the rainforests of Congo with the Ball Python, fly high with the flamingos, or lay low with the rhinos.
