Kamienne Kregi Wesiory

This 2000 year old burial site was also an important meeting place for the ancient Goths.

About

The Kamienne Kregi in Wesiory is a Gothic burial ground from the 1st to 3rd century. The Goths and Gepids arrived in Poland around the first century, and brought their Wielbark culture with them. Excavations of the site and its layout has suggest that while it was used for burials, it also served as an important gathering place. While the many artefacts uncovered here are now housed in the Archaeological Museum in Gdańsk, the site’s peaceful location in the woods makes for a relaxing place to appreciate its 2000 year history.
