Springbrook Plateau

Sprinkled with rushing waterfalls, skyhigh lookout points and peaceful picnic spots, the Springbrook Plateau is one of the most beautiful section of the UNESCO-listed Springbrook National Park. The track stays cool even in the humid summer months. Antarctic beech trees and eucalyptus shade much of the area while streams trickle in and out of rocks to create icy pools (the perfect home for long-finned eels). The hike up to the plateau can be a bit arduous with over 900 steps but areas around the plateau and surrounding National Park area offer more relaxed circuits. Be sure to plan ahead and see how long your circuit will take so you know how much time to spend at Springbrook Plateau. Bring water and wear comfortable shoes!
