Bonnie & Clyde Ambush Museum

Relive the murderous antics of America’s favorite outlaw couple just a few miles from where they met their demise.

About

The Bonnie & Clyde Ambush Museum has strong ties to the infamous lawbreaking lovebirds who fascinated America in the 1930s. The original manager, L.J. “Boots” Hinton, is the son of one of the lawmen who executed the criminals as they sat in their vehicle. And the former cafe it’s housed in is said to be the last place Bonnie and Clyde visited before their deaths. Hinton claims Bonnie even died with a cafe sandwich in her hands. In the museum, you’ll find photographs from the scene, as well as a replica of Bonnie and Clyde's bullet riddled car and their tombstones, plus authentic artifacts including some of their firearms, Bonnie’s iconic red hat, and glass from the windshield of the death car. And with all of the informational signage, it’s a great chance to learn about the duo. As a bonus, when you’re done in the museum, drive down the road a few miles to the site of the ambush.
