Chickasaw Cultural Center
Connect with native culture at one of the largest tribal cultural centers in the country.
About
At the sprawling, 109-acre, Chickasaw Cultural Center, youâll come face-to-face with the tribeâs culture and history. Wander through the recreated Traditional Village to see traditional structures like the Council House, two summer houses, two winter houses, a replica mound, a corn crib, a stickball field and a stockade fence. Along the way, youâll find a number of interactive activities ranging from archery demonstrations to language lessons. You can even join a game of stickball! Throughout the year, the Living Village delves even deeper into Chickasaw culture with more demonstrations like traditional stomp dances, and activities like hide scraping. In the Chikasha Poya Exhibit Center, youâll learn more about the tribeâs history and traditions, like their harmonious relationship with nature.
