Izmir Wild Life Park

Spread out over 425,000 square meters, the Izmir Wildlife park provides ample space to the 1200+ animals from over 120 different species who call it home. Here you can see animals from the African savanna like lions, hyenas, and zebras, jungle-dwelling tigers and birds, a monkey island, cold-blooded critters from the tropics, and everyone’s favourite residents: the Asian elephants. Large signs in Turkish and English inform visitors about the characteristics of each animal, from their eating habits to their conservation status (quite a few are endangered!). Along with being educational, the park is a favourite among photographers as the large enclosures let you capture candid shots of the animals behaving naturally.
