Sayulita to El Tuito and Vallarta Gardens: Day trip

If you’re in search of a traditional village with welcoming locals and small town charm, look no further than Tuito. Tuito’s main plaza houses a cultural center where history about the town, old photos and vintage maps are on display for all to see. Step outside and see the photos come to life! Brightly colored buildings and brilliant murals breathe life into this corner of the world. Festivals throughout the year add excitement and energy and reinforce the town’s sense of community.

The Vallarta Botanical Gardens offer visitors a cool retreat from the hustle and bustle of Vallarta. The gardens were opened in 2005 with the goal of educating the public through environmental conservation tours and classes. Visitors can roam the lush grounds, hike the manicured trails or take a dip in the Rio Horcones river if they feel up to a challenge. Should you find yourself in the area and fancy a visit, insect repellent is recommended. Grab lunch at the restaurant after working up an appetite.
