The brainchild of Austro-Hungarian Ambassador Count Ludovic Ambrozy, between 1909 and 1914 he populated his family estate with dozens of botanical species from North American, even tapping into the resources of the Harvard University Arboretum. The park was purchased by the state in 1934, and since 1954 has been granted scientific reservation status. Stretching for 60 hectares, the park has its own nursery of exotic species, which received nearly 800 taxa thanks to an international exchange. The network of well-marked trails provides visitors with a peaceful place to get some fresh air, while the ample signage explains every detail of the parkтАЩs vast collection.
