“Last minute plan change and Daytrip was our last resort so I chatted with them and had an immediate response from a real person, best situation ever. Never used Daytrip before but the reviews were incredible so we took the chance and booked a driver at like 11-12pm and by 7am the next morning when we woke, they found us a driver and the driver had already texed us making contact! Very impressed and will definitely use them again. We went from Dubrovnik, Croatia to Tivat, Montenegro.”

Nov 9, 2024“Andreas did a great job picking us up from Pireaus Cruise Port and taking us to our rental in Spata. The three of us had been on a long cruise and had 9 pieces of luggage. He arrived in an appropriate vehicle and loaded and unloaded all of it. We are very happy with out decision to book with Daytrip.”

Oct 5, 2024“On a trip to France, my wife and I flew into Paris Orly Airport and needed a ride from there to Dijon, France, which was about 3 hours away by car. Because we had a lot of luggage, we didn’t think it would be practical to use the train, which would have required stops and connections, so we wanted a private car service to take us. I was having trouble finding someone at first, but I stumbled upon Daytrip (mydaytrip.com), and saw that they would take us exactly where we needed to go, for a price that, while not cheap, ultimately seemed fair for a private car service to take us such a long distance. The thing that really sold me on using Daytrip was the fact that they have built in options to add certain sightseeing stops to your trip for an extra fee. In our case, the Chateau de Fontainebleau was a sightseeing option (along with several others), and it was somewhere I’ve been curious to visit, but had not had an opportunity to see. We thought this would be a great chance to go there and break up the drive, so we added a two-hour stop at Fontainebleau to our itinerary. The whole thing was also just easy to book with the car options and their luggage capacity clearly stated, so I appreciated that it was easy to book the Mercedes van that we knew we’d need for all of our luggage. When booking the ride, there were options to pay by credit card or pay cash to the driver directly. I found it odd that if you paid by credit card, full payment was taken upfront, but if you choose cash, you just pay the driver directly at the end of the ride. However, since our ride was over 500 euros, we thought it would be easier to pay by credit card, and went with that option and made payment upfront. Either way, you have the ability to make changes or cancel up to 24 hours in advance, but it just seemed odd that both options didn’t take the actual payment at a similar point in the trip.It is also specified during the booking process that a tip is not included in the rate, but that a 10% tip would be appreciated by drivers for good service. We were happy to tip our driver since he did a great job, and it was nice not to have to guess about this, but rather to have it all set forth upfront.I really appreciated that a couple days before our ride, I got an email from Daytrip to re-confirm our ride and provide the name, contact information, and photo of our driver, Philippe. On the day of our trip, I got a text message from Philippe earlier that morning to confirm our pickup and give me really clear directions on where and how to find him once we landed at the airport, which was great, since we wouldn’t have known. I texted back and forth with him a few times that morning to update him on our flight and a minor delay, and he was totally accommodating and ready to pick us up whenever we arrived. I appreciated how friendly Philippe was, and he was very respectful with things like Covid protocols. Since we are all vaccinated, he gave us the option to not wear masks, but when we said we’d be most comfortable if we all wore masks in the car, including him, he had no problem with that and wore a mask the whole time. He also had wifi in the van, which was a great bonus on a long ride so that I could catch up on emails on my computer. We enjoyed the two-hour stop at Fontainebleau to see the chateau and get lunch, and Philippe made it clear we could stay longer than two hours if we needed (we didn’t, but it was nice to have the option), and he was just super flexible about the entire ride. He also reminded us multiple times that if we needed to stop for bathroom breaks or anything else, he would stop. Philippe’s driving was very good, and we arrived in Dijon right around the time we had expected from the start. When our hotel had several steps to go up in order to get to the front desk, but no staff around to assist, he came in with us, helped with our luggage, and got us settled, which was really nice and not something he had to do. Philippe was a great driver, and the experience with Daytrip was perfect. I’d certainly use them again on future trips. The reservation was reliable, which is not the case with every car service company. Don’t hesitate to use them, and definitely take advantage of the added sightseeing stops.”

Nov 9, 2021All Daytrip drivers speak English* as well as their native language (and sometimes additional languages too!). They'll be happy to discuss local history and culture with you, as well as answer any questions you may have. And because they speak the language, they're able to provide you with a unique opportunity to connect with local culture. *Drivers for Lite service aren't required to speak English but must meet all other standards.
We screen all our drivers for criminal and traffic records, and personally interview each one. We also inspect their cars for safety, comfort, and reliability. All cars must be less than ten years old, in excellent operating condition, and insured as required by local law. And because our drivers are locals, they're familiar with the rules and customs of the road.
If you’re traveling with children, make sure to let us know in the booking so we can get the appropriate child seats ready!
Pets are allowed (and loved)! We just need to know beforehand. You can tell us about them in the next phase of the booking.
Gratuity isn’t included or required, but if you really enjoyed your trip, you can show your driver your appreciation with an optional tip (10% is sufficient).
Each passenger is allowed to have one checked bag and one carry on. If you’re traveling with more bags or oversized luggage, you can adjust this while booking.
Pay by credit card online, or in cash directly to your driver!
Every traveler deserves real insight into the cultures of the countries they’re visiting. And every amazing place on Earth deserves to be visited and appreciated. We believe unique local knowledge and real human connection are irreplaceable when it comes to truly comprehending another culture.
