Overview: car trip from Geneva to Courchevel

The 115 miles (187 km) from Geneva to Courchevel are the only thing standing between you and your world-class resort vacation, so let’s get started! Geneva sits in a Swiss basin hugging the border of the Alps and France, and it won’t take long to reach the French border.

Once you’re in France, the terrain will gradually become more mountainous as you travel south into the heart of the western Alps. The dense forests and untouched mountain ranges are kept in their natural condition thanks to their isolation, as well as wildlife reserves, such as the _Parc naturel régional du massif des Bauges. _This national park is located just south of Annecy, a popular stop for lunch and a walk. It is the "Venice of the Alps," with canals and stunning lakeside views.

The difficult terrain of the Alps also helped keep many villages frozen in time against foreign invaders, such as the Medieval City of Conflans (_Cite Medievale de Conflans). _Typical Medieval life comes to life on its narrow streets.

The final stretch for this road trip is a winding mountain road that climbs through dense pine forests before opening up to reveal Courchevel. Nestled high in the mountains, this resort will be a welcome sight after your day of travel!

About Courchevel

Courchevel is a world-class ski resort located in the Trois Vallees (Three Valleys) region of the French Alps. Unlike most ski resorts that develop naturally out of an existing town, Courchevel was built from the ground up as a ski resort. It was the first of its kind in France when it was constructed in the late 1940s. Today, Courchevel is the premiere Alpine resort for skiing and other winter sports. It has an activity for every skill level and over 370 miles (600 km) of slopes (that’s 5x the distance from Geneva to Courchevel!).

The resort is divided into villages, named for their altitudes:

  • Courchevel 1850
  • Courchevel 1650 (Moriond)
  • Courchevel 1550 (Village)
  • Courchevel 1300 (Le Praz)
  • Courchevel 1100 (La Tania)

Courchevel 1850 is at the highest altitude and is the crown jewel of the resort complex. It often attracts international celebrities for its luxury hotels, secluded chalets, and Michelin-starred restaurants. It is the largest of the five villages and has the most amenities, including 24 five-star hotels. The meticulous focus on luxury, privacy for the elite, and convenience keeps guests coming back year after year.

Courchevel is frequently used for winter sports competitions, including the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville and the 2023 Alpine Ski World Championships.

In addition to skiing, Courchevel offers a wide range of winter activities, including snowshoeing and ice skating. Visitors can also enjoy helicopter tours, providing a unique perspective of the stunning Alpine scenery. In the summer, guests can go swimming, horseback riding, and hiking.

Beyond winter sports, Courchevel is known for its vibrant après-ski scene, with sophisticated lounges and exclusive nightclubs.

Whether you're an avid skier or simply looking to indulge in a luxurious mountain retreat, Courchevel offers a blend of outdoor adventure and relaxation that keep it a top-ranking Alpine destination year after year.

Great communication with an actual person! They will take you ANYWHERE, No pre-set routes to choose from!

Last minute plan change and Daytrip was our last resort so I chatted with them and had an immediate response from a real person, best situation ever. Never used Daytrip before but the reviews were incredible so we took the chance and booked a driver at like 11-12pm and by 7am the next morning when we woke, they found us a driver and the driver had already texed us making contact! Very impressed and will definitely use them again. We went from Dubrovnik, Croatia to Tivat, Montenegro.

Andreas did a great job picking us up from Pireaus Cruise Port and taking us to our rental in Spata. The three of us had been on a long cruise and had 9 pieces of luggage. He arrived in an appropriate vehicle and loaded and unloaded all of it. We are very happy with out decision to book with Daytrip.

Exactly what they promised

We used Daytrip.com for 4 trips within Italy. This door-to-door service is not inexpensive. That said: All 4 drivers arrived on time. All spoke fluent English. All were excellent drivers, and all were kind and considerate. Lots of other things went wrong on this trip, but Daytrip.com did exactly what they promised.
