“Last minute plan change and Daytrip was our last resort so I chatted with them and had an immediate response from a real person, best situation ever. Never used Daytrip before but the reviews were incredible so we took the chance and booked a driver at like 11-12pm and by 7am the next morning when we woke, they found us a driver and the driver had already texed us making contact! Very impressed and will definitely use them again. We went from Dubrovnik, Croatia to Tivat, Montenegro.”

Nov 9, 2024“We needed to get from Budapest to Kosice, Slovakia. With a party of six (including a six-year-old and large bags), we did not want to take the bus. Daytrip was great! Reasonable, prompt, with a lovely driver who will make stops en route if you prefer (for an extra charge). I highly recommend them.”

Jul 8, 2019“We took three rides with Daytrip after a car rental fell through: Brasov-Cluj; Cluj-Kosice; Kosice-Budapest and all with different drivers/cars. We were desperately trying to figure out how to get between these towns after a problem with a car rental agency left us hanging. After finally finding Daytrip I was highly suspicious of the extremely large number of 5-star reviews but lacking much choice decided to give them a try - and I'm so glad we did. Starting with an easy to use website which doesn't always contain the cities you're interested in, but just email them and ask - we did and they added it. The site also offers options to stop off at suggested (tourist) destinations for whatever amount of time you want - so much easier than trying to figure this out with the driver. Payment can be made via credit card on the site or cash to the driver. Next, on all our rides the driver was always on time, always friendly/clean and with a good car. I'm really impressed with how well they do quality control over so many drivers in so many countries. Kudos. Obviously this is more expensive than taking the bus/train but it's basically like calling an Uber to go between cities and countries. My only small issue was that apparently they were really busy at the time and although they typically got back to us promptly, we sometimes had to wait a while before they got back to us. Hopefully they'll work this out, but it's certainly not enough of an issue to refrain from using them. Highly recommended.”

Jun 10, 2019“WE had a fantastic experience! Erik was a great driver, very personable and friendly. He shared lots of information about the area with us, etc. Told us about some great places to visit/see and eat. We really enjoyed our time with him. He made the drive one of the highlights of the trip and would hire him again.”

Sep 1, 2018All Daytrip drivers speak English* as well as their native language (and sometimes additional languages too!). They'll be happy to discuss local history and culture with you, as well as answer any questions you may have. And because they speak the language, they're able to provide you with a unique opportunity to connect with local culture. *Drivers for Lite service aren't required to speak English but must meet all other standards.
We screen all our drivers for criminal and traffic records, and personally interview each one. We also inspect their cars for safety, comfort, and reliability. All cars must be less than ten years old, in excellent operating condition, and insured as required by local law. And because our drivers are locals, they're familiar with the rules and customs of the road.
If you’re traveling with children, make sure to let us know in the booking so we can get the appropriate child seats ready!
Pets are allowed (and loved)! We just need to know beforehand. You can tell us about them in the next phase of the booking.
Gratuity isn’t included or required, but if you really enjoyed your trip, you can show your driver your appreciation with an optional tip (10% is sufficient).
Each passenger is allowed to have one checked bag and one carry on. If you’re traveling with more bags or oversized luggage, you can adjust this while booking.
Pay by credit card online, or in cash directly to your driver!
Every traveler deserves real insight into the cultures of the countries they’re visiting. And every amazing place on Earth deserves to be visited and appreciated. We believe unique local knowledge and real human connection are irreplaceable when it comes to truly comprehending another culture.
