Panti Bird Sanctuary

Mark some of the most exotic Malaysian birds off of your bird-watching list at the Panti Bird Sanctuary

About

The Panti Bird Sanctuary is part of the Gunung Panti Recreational Forest Reserve in southeast Malaysia. Over 300 species of birds call this sanctuary home. During your visit, you may see such birds as White-crowned Hornbills, Garnet Pittas, Malayan Banded Pittas, and Malayan Rail-Babblers. The reserve is most frequented by bird watchers and nature photographers, but even novices can enjoy its many trails. As a note to visitors, getting a permit from the Johor Forestry Department is essential to enter the Panti Bird Sanctuary. This fee keeps the wildlife reserve maintained and monitors the number of people in the forest simultaneously to prevent overuse of the trails.
