Trelleborg Viking Fortress

A historic Nordic treasure, this viking village puts you in the middle of your favorite fantasy!

About

The story begins in 980 AD, when King Harald Bluetooth, ordered the construction of the village of Trelleborg. Built with a ring castle layout in the center, this expansive layout includes long houses and grave sites. As of 2006, Trelleborg has been fully excavated into a museum and viking park. At the museum you can learn about the history of the Vikings and their time in the area of Slagelse. Then wander around the viking park, where men and women are living as the vikings did (at least for the park’s opening hours). Fun for the whole family, and if you can spare a few viking coins-to be bought at the museum- there are activities to be done around the park, such as baking flat bread, painting shields, and practicing archery. And, in the month of July there is a week long viking festival with markets, battles, and everything viking!
