Located in a barren, rocky region, Petroglifos de Miculla are a surprising treasure-trove of human culture. Believed to have been made from between 500 to 1445 AD, they span several stages of human development. The main element in most carvings are human figures, who are shown hunting, dancing, and playing musical instruments. Though they also depict animals like deer, vicuñas, birds, and reptiles, as well as cacti, flowers, and corn crops. The shift in subject matter illustrates records development of agriculture.
