Bernardine Monastery Lezajsk
The interior of this monastery's church is overflowing with opulent ornamentation, all dominated by an impossibly ornate organ.
About
Bernardine Monastery Lezajsk was built in the early 17th century, replacing a peasant-made wooden chapel that had been erected just a few years prior. Today, the monastery welcomes visitors to see their stunning basilica and museum. The churchâs interior is an exercise in Baroque and Rococo excess, with every surface covered in paintings or gold. However, the true star of the show is the 17th century organ, which has 5,900 pipes within its gilded Baroque case. In the monastery museum, visitors will learn the history of the Bernardine order through artefacts collected from Polandâs various Bernardine monasteries.
