Bremen is home to many cultural monuments, many of which line the stunning Marktplatz in its Old Town. Dominating the skyline is 11th century Cathedral, which combines Romanesque, Gothic, and a dash of Gothic Revival. Along with beautiful art and architecture, the Cathedral houses several 400 year old mummies, and a fascinating museum. Next door is the stunning Brick Gothic Town Hall, a UNESCO-listed structure that's one of the finest examples of the style in all of Europe. Home to the Senate of Bremen, the Town Hall also houses the world famous Rastkeller restaurant. Regardless of your dining plans, its worth taking a peek at the restaurant, particularly if you enjoy a glass of wine. Along with a choice of over 600 German wines, the restaurant owns the twelve oldest wines in the world.
