Chain Bridge Honey Farm
This family owned honey farm gives a fun and fascinating look into the world of beekeeping.
About
The Chain Bridge Honey Farm was started by beekeeping advisor William Selby Robson in 1948. The Robsons gradually expanded the honey farm, and now have 2000 hives to produce everything bee-related, from honey to soap. At the visitor center you can learn about bees and their behavior, as well as the many products of the beehive including honey, wax and propolis. Thereâs even an observation hive where you can watch a live colony of bees behind glass. All of the exhibit information is hand written by expert calligrapher Dorien Irving, while the walls of the are adorned with intricate murals by artist Tony Johnson, which give the visitor center a very friendly and personal atmosphere. Also on the farm is Stephen Robsonâs collection of vintage vehicles, which includes rare Lanz Bulldog tractors and a gentlemanâs caravan. A double-decker bus even serves as a cafe where you can enjoy all manner of honey-laden goodies. For more information, please visit chainbridgehoney.com
