Chateau de Biron
Mixing a medieval keep and noble residence, this picturesque chateau is a stunning architectural exhibition.
About
The 12th century seat of the Gontaut-Biron family, the Château de Biron changed hands many times over its long history, even belonging to the Plantagenets (the family who ruled medieval England) between the 14th and 15th centuries. Today, the château showcases several architectural styles thanks to the many additions, from the original twelfth-century keep, to the sixteenth-century living quarters and chapel, and the rustic vaulted kitchens. While the châteauâs halls havenât been furnished, the exquisite architecture, summer exhibitions, and views of the charming little village of Biron are more than worth a visit.
