About

Built in the 11th century after the Norman king Robert Guiscard defeated the Byzantines. Eventually the castle would become home to the kingdom’s richest dynasties, who would transform the castle into a noble home. The palace as it stands today is the result of 19th century renovation commissioned by the Compagna family. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful botanical garden in what was once the castle’s moat before heading into the sumptuous interior to admire the spectacular Hall of the Mirrors, and vibrant frescoes in the chapel depicting scenes from the Old Testament, the Crusades, and Roman history. The crown jewel of the church is the marvellously painted triptych depicting the Madonna of the Roses, housed in an ornately carved Neo-Gothic frame. Yes! A return trip will take you back to your city of origin in the same size car in which you arrived. Return trips can be booked for the any day. You can also add customized sightseeing stops separately for each trip! Don’t worry if you don’t know your exact address at the time of booking - you’ll have the opportunity to update us closer to your travel date. Make sure to select “Return” when you start the booking process, then choose the dates and times of your departures.
