Helikon Castle
The Festetics Palace, located in Keszthely, is Hungaryâs third largest and most visited palace. The two-story, U-shaped Baroque palace now houses the Helikon Palace Museum and an events center.
About
Since its construction in 1745, the 100-room palace has been rebuilt and reconstructed several times. Its permanent exhibitions include: a coach exhibition, a historical model railway exhibition, and a hunting exhibition. The Festetics Palacesâ greatest treasure is the Helikon Library, with antique furniture and over 100,000 books. The palace is surrounded by a nature reserve park and has an array of fountains, statues, flowerbeds, and a garden pond for visitors to enjoy. Additionally, open-air concerts are held on the grounds during the summer.
