Huis Bergh Castle
This 20th century neo-Gothic castle-cum-hotel has stayed true to its medieval roots.
About
First built as a stone guard tower with a moat, over the centuries Bergh Castle was regularly expanded and rebuilt, having been continuously inhabited throughout its history. The current castle, though it looks Gothic, is primarily from the 20th century, after a string of major fires damaged the estate. Today, the castle is an attraction, event venue, and hotel. Visitors can walk the castleâs groomed grounds, and learn about its history through an audio guide or the castleâs own app. After enjoying the exterior, visitors can head inside to view the large medieval art collection.
