Jaime Duque Park
This family-friendly theme park offers a bit of everything, from the Seven Wonders of the World to a zoo and cultural museums.
About
The Jaime Duque Park was founded by Colombian civil aviation personality and the first head of the Avianca airline pilots, Jaime Duque Grisales in 1983. Grisalesâ vision was to create a cultural and recreation space that the whole family could enjoy, and from its profits, help other family-focused institutions. Grisales wanted to impart some cultural and historical knowledge on his people, so brought some of the worldâs greatest monuments to Colombia by creating replicas of the Taj Mahal, Moscowâs Red Square, and the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Along with these monuments, thereâs also a zoo and conservation area dedicated to South American wildlife, a mirror palace, a playground of giant dinosaurs, a detailed 1:25000 scale topographical map of Colombia, and two museums. The park is also an event venue and has hosted concerts by Kylie Minogue, Guns N' Roses, and many others.
