Lata Kinjang Falls
Cool off from Malaysiaâs warm, tropical days at one of the tallest waterfalls in the country
About
Lata Kinjang Falls is one of Malaysiaâs tallest waterfalls at 2,788 feet (850 m). It is also among Malaysiaâs most visible waterfalls, featured prominently as a white stripe down the dark green mountainside when drivers pass by on the North-South Expressway. Although easily visible from the highway, it is far less accessible than most points of interest. The waterfall is located off of winding jungle roads. Wooden bridges and stairways lead up the rocky paths for hikers to have a closer view of the cascading water; however, for safety reasons, itâs essential to exercise caution as the rocks can be slippery. Planning a hike or swim during the rainy season is not recommended due to possible landslides on the trails, but the waterfall is more powerful during this period. As a note to foreign guests, there is a small parking and entrance fee, and the food stalls may not be open during Islamâs fasting days.
