Overloon War Museum
Opened in 1946, this Dutch museumâs dioramas and wartime relics reveal WWII through Dutch eyes.
About
Born from the Battle of Overloon (1944), where Allied and German forces clashed in one of WWIIâs fiercest tank battles, the Overloon War Museum is Europeâs oldest WWII museum. On your visit, walk among 200+ military vehicles, many salvaged from the battlefield and now preserved indoors alongside Dutch resistance artifacts and personal stories. The museum uniquely balances Allied and Axis perspectives with exhibits on occupation, liberation, and postwar recovery. Highlights include a recreated 1940s shop from the closed Achterhoeks Museum and immersive dioramas.
