Paloc people museum
Learn about the lives and traditions of the anomalous Hungarian tribe.
About
The origins of the PalĂłc are unclear, but itâs believed they descended from the Turkish Cuman tribe, who were displaced during the Mongol invasions. To this day, their descendants living in Slovakia and Hungary have retained their identity - complete with a distinctive dialect and accent. The permanent exhibition, âFrom Cradle to Graveâ outlines milestones in the lives of the PalĂłc people through artefacts and mock-ups of a birthing and wedding. Looking at the distinctive needlework, ranging from vibrant red-and-blue floral embroidery to nearly microscopic white-on-white.
