Can I book a return trip?

Accepted Answer

Yes! A return trip will take you back to your city of origin in the same size car in which you arrived. Return trips can be booked for the any day. You can also add customized sightseeing stops separately for each trip! Don’t worry if you don’t know your exact address at the time of booking - you’ll have the opportunity to update us closer to your travel date. Make sure to select “Return” when you start the booking process, then choose the dates and times of your departures.

Can I book a same-day trip?

Yes, you can use our [day trips](/day-trips) service to book your same-day excursion to and from your accommodation. Just select your city and choose from one of our hand-curated day trips to places you would otherwise miss without a car. Get all of the benefits of a day trip without having to plan each minor detail! If you can’t find what you’re looking for, use our [custom request form](/custom-route) to build your own day trip.

How do I book?

Simply choose your origin and destination via our homepage and enter your departure date and time. Browse and add sightseeing stops along the way by following the booking instructions provided on-screen. Select “One Way” or “Return” to change the type of trip you need. It’s a simple, easy, and fun way to book your next adventure! And if you don’t see your desired route on our website, you can [request a custom trip](/custom-route). You can even book without knowing your exact pick-up or drop-off address - we let you add these later!

I did not find the destination I need to travel to/from on your website, can you still take me there?

If your desired route is not listed on our website, don't worry! You can request a custom trip! We’ll do our best to accommodate your request, and maybe even add it as a regular route!

Question 6

What type of vehicle will I get?

Accepted Answer

You will receive the vehicle that best fits the number of travelers in your group, ranging from a sedan to a van for groups of up to 7. Depending where you travel, you can book anything from a sedan comparable to a Toyota Corolla to a Mercedes V-Class to a Classic Cuban Car. While the exact model may vary, we always ensure that the vehicle provided meets your needs in terms of safety, reliability, and comfort. You may be upgraded to a larger vehicle class free of charge depending on availability. Since our largest vehicle seats 7, for groups larger a combination of vehicles will be used. We will send you the exact vehicle details a few days before your trip.

Will my luggage fit?

Each passenger is allowed one large bag (29" x 21" x 11" / 74 x 53 x 28 cm) and one small bag (22" x 14" x 9" / 56 x 36 x 23 cm). Luxury sedans can only accommodate 2 large bags. We always send the vehicle that is the best fit for you and your luggage, so make sure to select the actual amount of luggage you are traveling with when booking. Will my sightseeing stop be open?

We can’t guarantee that every attraction will be open for every trip, especially during the off-season. We recommend checking the opening hours in advance. If you have any questions about your trip, feel free to [contact our customer service department](mailto:daytrip@daytrip.com).

Question 9

Where will my driver pick me up?

Accepted Answer

Your driver can pick you up at your hotel, apartment, cruise ship dock, or any other pick-up point accessible by car. This applies to your drop-off location as well. No need to worry about buses, cabs, or other connections - Daytrip provides door-to-door service! If you happen to be in a pedestrian-only area, your driver will meet you at a designated pick-up location.

Will my driver call me to confirm pick-up?

Accepted Answer

Your driver will meet you at the agreed time and place and won’t be contacting you before, unless necessary. You’ll receive a reminder with your driver’s name and mobile number a few days before departure in case you need to contact them.

Question 11

Will my driver speak English and be a tour guide?

Accepted Answer

Daytrip partner drivers speak English as well as their native language. While they'll be happy to discuss their own personal knowledge of the areas you'll be driving through, they are not tour guides. If you need a professional tour guide for your sightseeing stop(s) you will need to make third-party arrangements. We do offer a non-English speaking service on certain routes where the drivers will meet all other standards.

Why haven’t I received any emails from Daytrip?

We send a confirmation email immediately after you place your order, and an email with your driver’s details a few days before your trip. If you haven’t received any emails from us, it’s possible there’s a typo with your email address or they are going to your spam folder. If you haven’t received any emails, this does NOT mean your trip is canceled! To update your contact information, please [contact us](mailto:daytrip@daytrip.com).

Is it safe to travel with Daytrip?

All our drivers must submit his/her criminal and traffic record. We interview each driver. All cars must be less than ten years old, in excellent operating condition, and insured as required by local law. Drivers must provide us with the registration, insurance and technical inspection record of the car. And because our drivers are locals, they're familiar with the rules and customs of the road. We believe this provides a safer, more relaxing experience for you.

How can I pay?

Accepted Answer

You can pay in advance via credit card or in cash directly to your driver. You can use the button at the top of the page to switch the currency, but you will be charged in Euros or USD, depending on the country where your trip takes place. Your bank may use a different exchange rate. For cash trips over 200 USD, we ask a deposit of up to 25% that goes towards the price of your trip. Once you book your trip, you’ll see a message to pay the deposit in your client portal on our website and app, as well as in your email inbox. If the deposit is not paid by 24 hours before your trip, it will be cancelled.

What's included in the price? Are there any additional fees?

The quoted price is final and there are no additional fees for our services. However, optional third party activities such as tours or attraction fees are not included in the price. Rest assured there will be no surprises or additional fees from Daytrip.

Question 16

How can I make changes to my booking?

Accepted Answer

You can make changes to your itinerary, including adding or changing sightseeing stops, free of charge up to 36 hours before departure (some changes may affect the price of the trip). If you need to make a last-minute change less than 36 hours before departure, we’ll do our best to accommodate it (additional fees may apply). To make changes, simply log in to your booking on the website, use the Daytrip app, or [contact us](mailto:daytrip@daytrip.com). For flexible Pool bookings, you must [contact us](mailto:daytrip@daytrip.com) to make changes.

What is your cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

For private trips, you can cancel for a full refund up to 24 hours before departure. For the Daytrip Pool shared shuttle, we offer 3 ticket options when booking: Non-refundable, Flexible with cancellations 24 hours before departure, and Super-flexible with cancellations up to 15 minutes before departure.

Is gratuity included/expected?

Accepted Answer

Gratuity is not included in the price of your booking. If you are satisfied with your driver’s service, you can reward them with a tip according to local tipping culture (20% is standard for the USA, 10% is sufficient for the rest of the world)

Can I request a smoke-free car?

Accepted Answer

We strive to make your trip as comfortable as possible, and the air you breathe in the car is an important part of this. All drivers are required to keep their cars smoke-free, and generally as scent-neutral as possible. Which means no smoke, no dust, and no air fresheners.

Can I bring my pet with me?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we’re happy to accommodate your animal companion! Please let us know in advance if you will be traveling with pets, including service and emotional support animals, so we can ensure there will be enough space for you, your pet, and your luggage in the vehicle. If you don’t inform us in advance, we can’t guarantee that your driver will be able to accommodate you or offer any refund. Pets are not allowed in shared shuttles.

Question 21

How do I delete my personal data?

If you booked with us through our website, please send a request to [daytrip@daytrip.com](mailto:daytrip@daytrip.com) and we will gladly remove all your personal information. If you use the Daytrip iOS app, click "Delete my account" in your profile and the system will automatically remove your personal data from our database.

My payment failed, how can I fix it?

Will the driver provide a child car seat?

Accepted Answer

Everywhere except the USA, drivers will supply appropriate child seats (just let us know during booking). In the USA, certain states require you to supply your own child seats.

What happens if my flight is being delayed?

Accepted Answer

Your driver will wait up to 60 minutes for airport pickups in case of delay, but please make sure to contact our support team as soon as you learn of the delay. We’ll do our best to accommodate your new arrival time. Shared shuttles are unable to wait past the pick-up window.

What if I need more time at the stop on the day?

Accepted Answer

We understand that sometimes it’s hard to tear yourself away from your sightseeing stop. If you find you’d like extra time, please make arrangements with your driver. There will be an hourly fee based on the country in which you are traveling. While they’ll do their best to accommodate, sometimes their schedule won’t allow for them to stay longer.

Can I bring extra/unplanned passengers or luggage if my vehicle has space?

Accepted Answer

Your vehicle is assigned based on the number of passengers and luggage selected during booking. Even if a van can seat 7, booking for 5 means the vehicle is planned for that number, and extra space is not guaranteed. Changes depend on availability—you’re welcome to ask, and we’ll check, but we can’t guarantee adjustments within 36 hours of your trip.!

What types of wheelchairs can be accommodated?

Our vehicles can only accommodate foldable wheelchairs, with size limitations depending on luggage. Sedan: up to 2 passengers + standard luggage + 1 foldable wheelchair. MPV: up to 3 passengers + standard luggage + 1 foldable wheelchair. Van: up to 6 passengers + standard luggage + 1 foldable wheelchair. Unfortunately, motorized wheelchairs cannot be accommodated, as our vehicles do not have ramps, lifts, or specialized interiors.
