Discover the enchanting town of Bagepalli in Karnataka, India, where history, spirituality, and natural beauty converge. Amidst the semi-arid and drought-prone landscape, Bagepalli unveils the Gadidam Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple, a testament to timeless grandeur. Located in Devaragudipalli Village, just 3 km from Bagepalli, this sacred sanctuary is dedicated to Sri Venkataramana Swamy, Goddess Bhudevi, and Goddess Niladevi. Managed by the Muzrai Department of the Government of Karnataka, the temple's rich history unfolds in the annals of Indian mythology. As per historical records, Emperor Janamejaya, son of Pariskhit and descendant of Arjuna from the Mahabharata, constructed this divine abode in the beginning of Kali Yuga. The temple's antiquity is underscored by its origins in the Mahabharata era, where it served as a penance site to cleanse the sins of the Sarpayaga. Surrounded by the Gadidam mountains to the south and the flowing Chitravati River nearby, this expansive temple complex also houses the murits of Saptamatrikas, enhancing its spiritual aura.
