As a functioning nunnery, the convent encompasses a complex of buildings, including an exquisite two-aisled basilica with arches supported by grand columns. Adorning the facade are intricate carvings of ornamental splendor, and adjacent to the central temple is the Mgvimevi cave, where significant religious ceremonies take place during major holidays. A small hall church features a ceiling and west wall composed of natural rock formations, while the east wall bears a stunning engraved head of a ram.
