Uganda
A natural shower under this picturesque cascade is a great way to cool off.
Spilling in frothy white tendrils down a rocky face, Aruu Falls is one of Uganda’s lesser-known natural gems. The streams of water coalesce at the bottom in a natural shower spraying onto moss-covered rocks, where you can enjoy a refreshing massage and cool off before taking a dip in the pool at the base of the falls. The rock face has a gentle enough slop that you can also (carefully!) climb it to sit in one of the streams and get a different perspective of the cascade. The surrounding forest is also a great place to spot some of Uganda’s wildlife and is home to vervet monkeys, and a number of birds including the Egyptian goose, hornbills, and the secretary bird.
