Nestled in the heart of Penukonda, the legendary Gagan Mahal Palace of Krishnadevaraya whispers tales of Vijayanagar glory. This ancient Hindu palace, once the summer retreat and harem of Vijayanagara rulers, showcases a unique blend of Indo-Persian architecture. Facing east, Gagan Mahal reveals two stories of arcade chambers, adorned with 45 foliated arches reminiscent of Lodhi-style architecture. The ground floor, adorned with arches, leads to pavilions and rooms, while the first floor boasts twelve arches and eight windows. The stucco-coated walls glisten in the sunlight, showcasing an architectural marvel sans a single rafter.
