Deriving its name from the word 'Hill', Gori is a city built upon undulating terrains, with a history dating back to the early Bronze Age. Most famous internationally as the birthplace of Joseph Stalin, complete with an infamous museum, Georgian locals associate Gori with its iconic citadel, the Gori Fortress, that is located on top of a hill.
