Uganda
Set on the grounds of a former palace, this complex is a hub for local history and culture.
The Igongo Cultural Centre highlights the rich histories as well as the modern-day lifestyles of tribes in southwestern Uganda and the neighboring kingdoms. The center has collaborated with researchers at the University of Zurich to document the changes in the area over time and tells a tale of how adaptable the agricultural-based region has been to new technologies. Check out the various museum exhibits to learn more and to admire unique Ankole artifacts before trying some local dishes at one of the two restaurants on the grounds. Be sure to check the opening hours so you can get the most out of your visit!
