Homer's Iliad tells us a tale about the most powerful king in ancient Greece - Agamemnon, who ruled from his magnificent fortress, Mycenae. Homer described the structure's grandeur, and according to archaeological findings, Homer was right. Today, visitors can admire the fortress' gates, graves, and walls, along with the Treasure of Atreus, which contains possibly the most impressive and well-preserved Mycenaean tombs.
