The Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is a site not to be missed during your Uganda stay. As home to the only wild white rhinos in the country it offers a unique experience to trek through the bush and see these endangered creatures in their natural habitat. With over 7,000 hectares for the rhinos to roam, the sanctuary proudly offers a secure space protected from predators, where it is hoped the population will expand over time through breeding. As well as rhinos you can expect to see storks, waterbucks and over 300 species of bird, which can be admired on one of the available tours. If you’re visiting the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, be sure to wear closed shoes and long pants - and mosquito repellent is a must!
