On the way, you can stop for sightseeing to enrich your tour of Italy and France even more. For instance, consider a detour to Soave Castle, located near Verona in the quaint town of Soave. This incredible hilltop castle overlooks the valley below and was constructed for protection against Hungary in the 10th century. Today it is the stage for cultural events such as medieval pageant performances.
Or, visit one of the most charming villages in Italy: Borghetto sul Mincio. The tiny riverside village has dedicated itself to becoming a picturesque tourist destination, complete with old-world watermills and wooden bridges as well as cobblestone streets overflowing with vibrant flower boxes.
After you make your way from Venice to Nice, you will find yourself in a tranquil resort town at the heart of the French Riviera. Built around a bay, Nice boasts a balmy, warm climate that attracts millions of visitors each year. The mountains encircling the city give this place dramatic cliffside views and help to shelter Nice from extreme weather, making it a temperate oasis on the Riviera.
The fifth largest city in France, Nice is a cultural and historical center, famous for its cuisine, its elegant culture, and its important contributions to science and technology. The city is divided into Old Nice and New Nice, with the old town retaining historical mustard-colored buildings and cobblestone streets. Here, visitors can explore the many gardens and parks and try some of the city’s most famous dishes. In fact, Nice is said to have the best ratatouille in all of France.
The new town is home to the famous Promenade de Anglais where travelers can soak up incredible views in one of the many waterside cafe terraces, while also enjoying the year-round bloom of flower beds overlooking the bay. The new town is home to several beaches, as well as popular destinations for luxury travelers, such as fine dining restaurants, casinos, live music venues, and upscale hotels.
Nice is also a great destination for art history buffs, as it is home to the highest number of art museums in the country outside of Paris. The Nice Jazz Fest and nighttime celebrations of the region's arts and culture keep things lively throughout the year.

After your exciting trip from Venice to Nice, you will have an unmatched variety of activities to keep you busy in this bustling cultural hub. In addition to shopping, sampling the local cuisine, and strolling around, there are a few must-see attractions travelers to Nice should add to their itinerary.
The turquoise bay that Nice is centered around, called the “Bay of Angels,” features a plethora of snorkeling and boating opportunities for visitors to experience the region's natural splendor. Boat tours take travelers to nearby cave systems and offer a unique view of the city from the water, while guided snorkeling excursions allow you to get up close to Mediterranean sea life.
Some boat tours will even take travelers on dolphin-watching trips, timed to provide the best possible chance to witness these incredible creatures in their native waters.
The most prominent highlight of New Nice is this waterfront promenade, named for the English aristocrats who frequented it in the early 19th century. The path allows visitors to bike or stroll down the coast and enjoy the unbroken views of the Mediterranean below. An abundance of cafes and restaurants along the promenade offer relaxing outdoor seating to enjoy a refreshing drink or a local dish.
The Chateau sits atop a hill and is a massive garden park with paths shaded by wooded sections and a few different viewpoints offering panoramas across the Bay of Angels. There are castle ruins at the pinnacle of the hill, a relic of where the town was originally founded. Now, the area serves as an incredible outdoor space that offers visitors a better understanding of the city’s outward development.
The Chateau and its many gardens are a great destination for a family day out with plenty of peaceful walks, picnic spaces, and even a new playground designed like a castle.
Before you embark on your Venice to Nice transfer, you will likely be wondering about the best time of year to visit this Mediterranean paradise. While Nice is fairly sunny all year round, the city still sees its largest influx of visitors in the summer months from June to August.
To find better deals on accommodation and activities, consider a trip in the autumn or spring shoulder seasons, before Nice becomes more crowded with the summer vacation crowd. The winter in Nice is also mild and this may be a good time for travelers who want the fewest crowds. Wintertime visitors can enjoy the December Christmas markets as well as the elaborate Carnival festivities in February.

“I was unsure about this company but a few good reviews on Trip Advisor made me take the chance. I am so happy that we did. We needed a ride from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai. Our driver Saksun was an excellent driver - it's not a long distance to drive (by Texas standards!) but the road is challenging and there are a lot of places where improvements to the road are being made. It took around 3 hours with a stop at a place with very clean bathrooms, very interesting hot springs and a place to get a snack and cold drinks. Saksun had a vehicle that was fantastic for this type of drive - a very comfortable ride indeed and was obviously well maintained and very clean. I highly recommend this company. I used to post on trip advisor as "lakekariba" but got out of the habit of doing so. This company was so easy to use and the result was so enjoyable that I felt that the company Daytrip and the driver Saksun had earned our trust and a glowing review. Dec 4, 2024“We used Daytrip to travel between Budapest and Vienna with a 2 hour stop for lunch in Bratislava. Our driver Zsombor arrived on time at our hotel in Budapest and was very friendly and informative throughout our trip. His vehicle was roomy and clean and he was kind enough to provide us with some bottled water for the trip. Our quick visit stop in Bratislava was very nice as well. He gave us plenty of time to explore the city and have lunch before meeting him again when it was time to head for Vienna. Daytrip provided us with a happy and trouble free transfer between Budapest and Vienna. Many thanks to your team and especially to your driver Zsombor!”

Nov 1, 2024All Daytrip drivers speak English* as well as their native language (and sometimes additional languages too!). They'll be happy to discuss local history and culture with you, as well as answer any questions you may have. And because they speak the language, they're able to provide you with a unique opportunity to connect with local culture. *Drivers for Lite service aren't required to speak English but must meet all other standards.
We screen all our drivers for criminal and traffic records, and personally interview each one. We also inspect their cars for safety, comfort, and reliability. All cars must be less than ten years old, in excellent operating condition, and insured as required by local law. And because our drivers are locals, they're familiar with the rules and customs of the road.
If you’re traveling with children, make sure to let us know in the booking so we can get the appropriate child seats ready!
Pets are allowed (and loved)! We just need to know beforehand. You can tell us about them in the next phase of the booking.
Gratuity isn’t included or required, but if you really enjoyed your trip, you can show your driver your appreciation with an optional tip (10% is sufficient).
Each passenger is allowed to have one checked bag and one carry on. If you’re traveling with more bags or oversized luggage, you can adjust this while booking.
Pay by credit card online, or in cash directly to your driver!
If you have any questions, here are the answers.
