Alcsuti Arboretum
One of the oldest and most original English-style parks in Hungary, AlscĂști Arboretum offers plenty to do and see during your visit.
Om
Founded in 1820, the AlscĂști Arboretum is set in the picturesque Hungarian countryside. With over 40 acres of arboretum and a wide variety of flora and fauna, the garden offers the perfect setting for a relaxing stroll through this stunning exhibit of natureâs beauty. The garden once served as the private garden of JĂłzsef NĂĄdor, who was Palatine of Hungary from 1796 to 1847. The garden is also home to the ruins of NĂĄdors private residence, a castle built in 1827 and destroyed by fire during the Second World War. Among the more than 300 species of plants, visitors will find Turkish hazelnuts, marigolds, tulips, and a collection of lime, maple, oak and chestnut trees, including Hungaryâs oldest Lebanese Cedar tree which dates back more than 170 years. The garden offers a strikingly serene setting, and is a must-see for nature lovers travelling in the area.
