Rugged terrain, natural beauty, and views for miles draw outdoor enthusiasts to this stunning State Park.
The Crowders Mountain State Park contains two grand peaks; Crowders Mountain, and The Pinnacle. The park is a haven for adventurers, with eleven hiking trails of varying in difficulty and terrain, and unspoiled views for 25 miles from atop the sky-scraping cliffs. Crowders Mountain towers at over 1600 feet above sea level; with a history dating back hundreds of millions of years. It is believed that it once stood much higher but was eroded by the elements over time to leave the more humble mountain visitors flock to today. The 9-mile Ridgeline Trail links to Kings Mountain State Park, which comprises the site of the Battle of Kings Mountain of the American Revolution. The Crowders Trail leads to the Crowders summit, while Pinnacle Trail is bound to burn as you climb to the county’s highest point! Take the Lake Trail loop for a walk that’s easier on the legs, where you’ll have the chance to hop in a canoe or try your hand at fishing in the glistening water.
