The site of the Potomac Great Falls, a beautiful series of major cascades that total up to 76 feet. For expert kayakers and whitewater boaters, this is the perfect place for you! For another discovery mission, the park has 24 kilometres of hiking trails that traverse streams, rivers and reservoirs. For a historical opportunity, visit the Potowmack Canal, a canal George Washington funded; making it the first canal in the USA that used locks. Go climbing on the Great Falls climbing area, where you can see Native American Petroglyphs while taking a scenic rock-climbing excursion over the Difficult Run, another river area.
