Nazca Lines Observation Tower

This metal tower is the easiest way to get a glimpse of the world’s most enigmatic UNESCO World Heritage Site.

About

The Nazca Lines, carved for unknown purposes between 500 BC and 500 AD, consist of hundreds of huge geoglyphs etched into an area of 19 square miles, and the Nazca Lines Observation Tower is the easiest and cheapest way to see these world-famous carvings up close (it’s illegal to walk near them). From atop the observation tower, you can see three of the giant figures: a tree, a hand, and a lizard, which unfortunately had its tail bisected by the Panamericana highway. While the perspective is still quite oblique from 42-feet up in the air, your only alternative is hiring a plane for $80+ for a 30-minute flyover of the site. You can also stop by the nearby Mirador Natural to see some different geoglyphs from atop a small hill.
