Ong Temple
This colorful, incense-filled temple stands as a symbol of Chinese heritage in Vietnam.
Om
Ong Temple was built in the late 19th century in reverence of Kuang Kung, the Chinese deity symbolizing loyalty, justice, reason, intelligence, honour and courage. Inside are symmetric rows of enclosed sections, each ornamented with elaborate carvings and colorful statues. Walking through the temple, youâll encounter various deities, such as the Goddess of Fortune and General Ma Tien on either side of the engraved screen, while the centre of temple is reserved for Kuang Kung, whoâs flanked by the God of Earth and the God of Finance. Throughout the temple youâll see giant incense coils, each wrapped around a prayer - stay long enough and you might see how theyâre tended.
