Om

Don’t let the brooding and impregnable facade fool you as you approach the castle; Pernơtejn is very different once reached and offers amazing views of the surrounding forests. Visitors can choose from various tours of different durations of the castle interiors that feature Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque styles that more than equal the impressive exterior. The delectable ceiling vaulting, exquisite furniture and remarkable art simply have to be seen. Known locally as the “Marble Castle” due to the marble-like stone used in its doors and windows, the castle also features a tower connected to the inner palace with a suspended walkway. Like most Czech castles, ancient myths and legends surround the area, usually tales of ghosts, which all add to the mystery. The castle is one of the best preserved in the Czech Republic and has the added bonus of fascinating connecting staircases that charm and intrigue visitors of all ages.
