Phrabat Phonson Temple

One of the most sacred temples in the area, the origins of Phrabat Phonson Temple have faded from memory. As it stands near the provincial border, villagers come here to worship both Vientiane and Borikham Chai, and travellers often stop to pray to its relics and the large sleeping Buddha. Most revered ,however, is the 2.4-meter-long footprint within the church, which is the focal-point of a two-week-long festival in February.
