Red Desert

The world’s smallest desert stands in stark contrast to the tropical greenery surrounding it.

About

This ruby red stretch of sand is often compared to parts of the Arizona Desert, except the Red Desert is only 200 meters wide with lush tropical surroundings. With theories ranging from aliens to overgrazing, the exact cause of the desert is unknown, though its sands have offered up a wealth of archaeological artefacts. While some visitors simply call it a sand dune, this arid anomaly surrounded by a rich ring of indigenous flora makes for an interesting sight.
