Saint Padre Pio Parish and Shrine

This shrine dedicated the stigmata-bearing modern saint is a unique blend of Filipino of Christian ideals.

About

The Saint Padre Pio Parish and Shrine was originally a small roadside chapel. Within months of St. Padre Pio’s canonization in 2002, the parish received the first of his first-class relics. The number of devotees quickly grew, and a new, larger shrine was erected on a 1.6-hectare plot of land in 2006. Today, the Saint Padre Pio Parish and Shrine attracts thousands of Pilgrims, especially for the special special day of prayer devoted to St. Padre Pio every month. The complex architecture is inspired by indigenous architecture and materials, creating an interesting juxtaposition between the giant bamboo building and Christian relics, sculptures, and iconography.
