Reach the top of the awe-inspiring Salto do Cavalo Viewpoint and take in the surrounding mountains, alleys and the unbelievably blue ocean in the distance. At an elevation of 760 meters, survey the Povoação Valley and its seven hills, the stunning Lagoa das Furnas and entire Furnas Valley. Look over the sea stretching out into unending blue as a diverse range of bird species fly overhead. Unique flora surrounds the viewpoint, with the picturesque plants of Loriselva and the stunning priolo plant which blooms in summer and winter months dotting the landscape. Sit back on one of the benches and take in one of the best views of the island of San Miguel.
