Tom Moore's Tavern

This iconic restaurant is also Bermuda's oldest, serving continental cuisine with a local twist in a romantic ambiance of its colonial-style building

About

Tom Moore's Tavern opened its doors in 1652, and hasn't closed them ever since. Serving classic continental cuisine with a Bermudian touch, this is one of the island's most renowned restaurants. The Tavern was originally owned by Robert Walsingham, who was in charge of the Sea Venture ship which brought the first settlers to Bermuda. The restaurant is named after the Irish poet Thomas Moore, who used to regularly visit the Tavern when he lived on the island. Located at Walsingham Bay near the Crystal Caves, the restaurant's building is a classic colonial style that is even more beautiful at night when lit up. Inside the building, there are five dining rooms across two floors. The classic romantic decor complements the fine dining: the ingredients, preparation, and presentation are top-notch, with seafood being the Tavern's specialty. The wine here also never disappoints! Reservations are required. The restaurant is open daily from 6:30 pm to 10 pm, closed from January to mid-February. Contact Tom Moore's Tavern at +1 441-293-8020 or email bfiocca@ibl.bm.
